How to Raise Money With a Bake Sale PDF

One of the best ways to make money for your group or organization is by holding a bake sale event. Everyone loves to eat, and most organizations have meetings several time each year that are attended by a large number of people.

The next time your group has a big meeting scheduled, make plans to capitalize on the fact that you'll have a large number of your supporters gathered in a single location. Recruit a committee to put together goodies for a bake sale, and offer a variety of baked goods for sale during the event.

What to Sell
To enjoy the biggest financial gain from your bake sale, it is a good idea to offer a variety of items for sale. You should have some individual serving items that people can purchase and enjoy during the event, as well as larger items, such as whole cakes or plates stacked high with cookies, that they can take home to enjoy later.

You should have a variety of different types of baked goods. Cookies, brownies, cakes, cupcakes, and pies are always popular selections at bake sales. Keep in mind that some people don't care for sweets, so it's a good idea to have savory treats such as home baked bread available for purchase.

How to Make the Most Money
To make the most money from your bake sale, you should publicize the fact that you are holding the fundraiser during your group's meeting with notices that are sent out to invite members to attend. Add a notation on the end of your meeting invitations reminding members that there will be a baked goods sale.

You should be set up and be prepared to start selling goodies thirty minutes before the beginning of the meeting, and you should plan to stay thirty minutes to an hour following the end of the scheduled event. This will give people time to shop before and after the meeting.

You should set the prices so that they are fair. Don't price your items higher than they could be purchased from a local bakery. By making sure that the baked goods in your sale are priced competitively with local retail outlets, you will make it hard for people to turn down the products you have available.

Make sure that your display is merchandised effectively. An attractive display can draw visitors to your table and encourage them to purchase more. The more sales you make, the more money your group will make!
