Sample Fundraising Letter: Getting Parents Involved in a School Fundraiser If your school is launching a fundraising program, it's important to encourage mum and dad to "buy-in" to the project. You can't depend on young schoolchildren to accurately convey all of the relevant information about the campaign to their parents. You'll need to prepare a fundraising letter that explains the details of the program, as well as the reasons a successful campaign is important.  Dear [School Name] Parent:  As you know, [School Name] depends on successful fundraisers to provide funds necessary to continue offering important supplemental educational opportunities for the student body. We've researched several opportunities, and are excited to launch this year's [fundraiser event].  We're asking for your assistance and support with this important opportunity to provide [School Name] students with enhanced educational opportunities. Each child is being asked to sell one [quantity] of [product name], and additional [product names] are available for kids who wish to participate at a higher level. The [product names] are only [price], and are sure to appeal to your friends, family members, and co-workers.  Of course, the more [product name] each child sells, the better chance we have of reaching or overall fundraising goal of [x dollars] to fund [items to be purchased]. Special prizes have been set aside for the top [quantity] of sales performers. Those who have the highest sales will receive their awards at an upcoming school assembly.  Thank you in advance for your support. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at "email address" or "phone number". I'm looking forward to working with you and your child during the campaign.  Sincerely,   [Your Name Here]  Fundraising Coordinator  Â
